Get help for your brighter day with a variety of different legal services available to low income families and individuals in Tippecanoe County, Indiana.
Here are some examples of services we will be happy to help you with. However, we do NOT handle criminal matters or cases involving fee-generating litigations.
To Qualify for Legal Aid's Help
- You must RESIDE in Tippecanoe County,
- Your CASE must be in Tippecanoe County,
- And you must meet the financial requirements.

- Custody/Visitation
- Grandparent Rights
- Adoption
- Name Changes
- Guardianship
- Power of Attorney (POA)
- Living Wills (Healthcare directives...)
- Small Claims and Consumer Defense (Very Limited)
- Paternity (once established)
- Foreclosure
- Landlord/Tenant
**CHINS & Mental Commitment person asks court for representation- via letter**
Legal Aid does not help with:
- Criminal Cases
- DUI/DWI
- Traffic violations
- Worker’s Compensation
- Bankruptcy
- Last Will and Testament
- Trusts/Torts
- **Cases that generate money (We cannot sue)
